For those interested in the arts and with a passion for the finer things in life, Mika Otani, founder and artist in residence at Atelier Soka is uniquely capable of transforming the 7th century practice into an accessible art form. Otani is a certified Ikebana instructor, and hosts classes in Japanese and English to students from all four corners of the world.
Taking up the practice at the age of 20, Otani shares lessons learned through a lifetime of practice, under the tutelage of the great Ikeabana artist, Soukou Tomita – himself a student of the legendary Sōfu Teshigahara.
