Journeys to the end of the earth are long fabled, but for one Arctic explorer, such activity has become a quotidian lifestyle. Queue Børge Ousland; founder of the Manshausen Island Resort and something of a modern-day Ernest Shackleton.

The 55-acre estate is situated on the Grotoya Strait. The luxury eco sea cabins occupy one of Europe’s most remote archipelagos, offering guests the chance to indulge in nature’s offerings. With hiking, fishing, cycling, kayaking and diving activities on offer as entertainment by day, the real show lights up the sky at night – sitting in the tranquil cubic cabins from the floor to ceiling windows, it’s not uncommon for the starry sky to be lit up by the lights of the famed Aurora Borealis.
