Switzerland
Null Stern - the only star is you, is the claim of the new astonishing hotel by conceptual artists Frank and Patrik Riklin, whose streak of madness had already been tested with their previous hotel, opened in a former nuclear bunker (the first zero star hotel in the world).
The concept Null Stern – the only star is you is now reborn 6,463 feet above sea level in Safiental, the Grisons mountains of Switzerland, and it promises to be a one-of-a-kind hotel experience: no real estate, no walls, no roof, even a bathroom on-premises (there is a public restroom 10 minutes away from the hotel). For 250 US dollars per night, you're getting a bed with a couple of nightstands and lamps plus a club of “Modern Butlers” wearing white gloves and bow ties, to ensure that each guest receives a warm welcome: a shot of a traditional cult Grisons cherry liquor with a slice of salami to admire the stars in the sky before bedtime and a good cup of coffee or tea in the morning when you wake up in the natural splendor of the Swiss landscape.
The room is bookable every night between spring and fall, though of course, there's a chance reservations could be cancelled at the last minute due to poor weather.
