Alaska
Sheldon Chalet is one of those places that give me a serious case of wanderlust. Located near the summit of Denali, you find yourself surrounded by the wildest Alaskan nature. Such a place shouldn't even be possible but the Sheldon Family own 5-acres within Denali National Park, a type of concession that is no longer granted.

THE EAGLE'S NEST
The chalet itself is a feat of engineering and clever design. Perched atop a nunatak – a peak that sprouts from the glacier — a luxurious cabin elevates all the amenities and comforts demanded by the travel elite above 1,800 metres. Its hexagonal floor plan means that every room has a view. And what a view!

COMFORT IN ABSOLUTE REMOTENESS
As your helicopter alights on Sheldon Chalet's helipad, you feel you have stepped into a spy movie and you've just landed on a secret hideout, completely unreachable for everyone but you. You cross the bridge and step into a stylish and warm interior where champaign flows freely and your private chef is creating a delightful course for the evening.

LET YOURSELF BE DELIGHTED
Hospitality is a serious family affair at the Chalet. Don Sheldon's legacy, his legendary career as a bush pilot in Alaska, his love for the mountain, all come together to create a deeply emotional experience. Guests are welcomed as friends, and the property is run by the Sheldon Family.

FIT FOR EXPLORERS
For me, it is the contrast created by Sheldon Chalet what makes it so special. Indoors, it is a place of comfort and a temple to the finer things in life. Outdoors, you find yourself in the domain of explorers and adventurers. You can snowshoe above a kilometre-thick glacier, spelunk in ice caves, and in the Summer months even rock climb in mighty Denali. In the Winter months, the altitude and the clear skies render the observation deck the true front row seat to witness the Aurora Borealis.
